Propozit also fits quotes for building and renovation work, for installing kitchens, bathrooms, solar or heating, and for selling products. You pick your business type, and Propozit suggests the right template and fills your price list with examples to change.

Pick your business type

You choose it when you create your organization. Four of the types are for these trades:

  • Building and renovation
  • Installation (kitchens, bathrooms, solar, heating)
  • Selling products to businesses
  • Selling products to consumers

Owners and admins can change it later under Settings → General. It sets the suggested proposal type and the example price list. It changes nothing in proposals you already made.

The two templates

Select Decks, then New proposal, then Pick a type. For a building or installation business, Building work comes first and says Suggested. For a business that sells products, Product quote does. Every other type is still there.

  • Building work has a cover, the challenge ("What you asked for"), the approach, the scope of what is in and out, the prices, the planning, your cases, the payment schedule, the terms and the agreement.
  • Product quote is shorter: a cover, the challenge ("What you need"), the prices, "Delivery and fitting" as stages, the terms and the agreement.

Both start with their texts in the language of the proposal, in four languages. Change any of it in the editor.

The template also sets how the client pays, but only when no payment plan applies to the proposal. Building work pays 30% on signing, 60% halfway through the work and 10% on completion. A product quote asks for a 30% deposit. If you picked a payment plan for the proposal, the plan decides instead. See Payment plans, VAT and the checks.

Units and quantities

A product can be sold per unit, such as m², piece or pallet. In Price list, set the Unit on a product, and its price is per unit. In a proposal, set the Quantity on the line, and the row shows the quantity times the price. Hourly products, with a rate per hour, work for labour such as fitting.

Group the prices

On the Pricing slide, set Rows to Grouped by category. Both templates start grouped.

  1. Give each product a Category in the price list, such as Bathroom or Electrics. In a proposal, each line has its own Category field to change.
  2. The prices are shown under a heading per category, such as "Bathroom". Rows with no category go under Other.
  3. Each group ends with a Subtotal. It adds up the ticked rows with a price, before VAT. A group with monthly rows also shows "+ … per month". A group with no priced row has no subtotal.
  4. Choose from a set, such as a tile choice, stays under its own choice heading, after the category groups.

When your client unticks an optional row, the subtotal of its group changes with the total. One list shows the rows as before, with the category as a small tag.

Photos and article numbers

In Price list, a product can have an Article number (your own code, such as TILE-204) and a Photo. A photo is a PNG, JPEG or WebP of up to 2 MB, and you can replace or remove it later.

  • On a price row, the photo is a small picture beside the name, and the article number follows the name.
  • The price list shows both in its table.
  • The signed PDF shows "Name · article number" and no photo.

Add example products fills an empty price list from your business type: building work gets rows per m², piece and hour in categories such as Bathroom and Electrics, and a business that sells products gets items with article numbers, delivery per pallet and fitting per hour.

A long catalogue in a spreadsheet can be imported as CSV.

Provisional sums and extra work

Propozit does not have a separate type for these. Write them as text:

  • A provisional sum is a row with a price and a description such as "Settled at actual cost against the supplier's invoice". The Building work terms say that provisional sums are settled against the real invoices.
  • Extra work is an hourly line for work outside the quote. It is shown as billed as used and is not in the total. The terms say extra work is agreed in writing, with its price, before it is done.

VAT

A proposal has one VAT rate. Pick it under VAT in the first step. For a client abroad or a reverse charge, use a 0% rate with a note, such as "Export of services". The note shows on the proposal.

One quote cannot mix rates yet, for example 9% on labour and 21% on materials. Your VAT rates are set under Settings → Company. See Payment plans, VAT and the checks.
