Ask the AI for changes
Ask AI in the editor or the steps: what it can change, the card with Check these and Couldn't do, Apply and Undo, translating, the daily limits and where your words go.
Updated
On this page
Once a proposal exists, you can ask the AI to change it in your own words: "make the intro shorter", "add a discovery phase", "add the strip card as an option" or "translate it to Dutch". The AI suggests the changes, and nothing happens to the deck until you select Apply.
Ask AI is there for proposals that are not signed yet. Portfolios and signed proposals don't have it.
Ask for a change
- Open the proposal in the editor and select the Ask AI button at the bottom right. The panel takes the place of the preview, and Close brings the button back.
- In What should change?, write what you want, between 2 and 1,000 characters.
- Select Ask, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac).
Not sure where to start? The suggestions under the box, such as Shorten the intro or Add a discovery phase, fill in the box for you. Nothing is sent until you select Ask.
Your latest edits must be saved first. If the top bar doesn't say Saved yet, wait a moment and ask again.
The AI remembers the last few messages of this conversation, so "and make it shorter" works. Show preview and Back to Ask AI switch between the panel and the preview without losing it. A reload starts a new conversation.
What it can change
- The text of your slides, and lists such as the scope or the phases of the timeline.
- Slides: hide, show or move them, or add a text slide such as the timeline, the approach or the terms.
- Lines from your price list: add a product as included, optional or a plan to pick, change a quantity, or take a line out.
- Cases from your library: add or remove them.
- The language of the whole proposal.
It can't change prices, discounts or deals, images, the design, or names, quotes and figures that come from your clients and team. Prices only come from your price list: ask for "€500" and the card says so under Couldn't do. Change prices under Prices.
Check and apply
Each answer is a card that lists the changes, with the slide they are on and the text before and after. A price change shows the line with its price from your price list, and the new total when it changes.
- Check these lists figures in the new text that are not in your message, the deck, your prices or your cases. Check each one.
- Couldn't do lists what the AI could not or would not change, and why.
Select Apply to make all the changes in one step, or Discard to drop them. In the editor, Undo in the top bar takes the whole card back. Show on slide opens the preview on the changed slide.
If the deck changes after the card was made, for example because you typed in a slide, the card can't be applied any more. Select Ask again to get a new card for the deck as it is now.
On your phone
In the steps, select AI at the top (Ask AI on a wider screen). It opens full screen on a phone and as a panel on the right on a computer. It works the same way, with two differences: there is no Show on slide, and the card has its own Undo, which takes the changes back until you edit the proposal again. Close the panel to see the change in the preview.
Translate a proposal
Ask "translate to Dutch" or use the suggestion. Long proposals are translated in parts, which takes a little longer, and you get one card once all parts are back. Price lines and cases keep their own names. A translation is its own card: ask for other changes after applying it.
Limits
Each request counts toward a daily limit: 30 a day on Free, 200 for the organization and 100 per person on Solo and Team, and 400 and 200 on Agency. A translation counts once to start and once per part, so a proposal translated in 4 parts uses 5. A big change, like the tone of the whole proposal, is done in steps of about 12 fields: ask again for the rest. The limits reset at midnight (UTC); when you reach one, you can still edit the proposal yourself. See Plans and billing.
Your data
When you select Ask, your message, the last few messages, the proposal's text, its price lines, your products and prices, and your cases go to Claude by Anthropic, through Anthropic's API in the United States. Anthropic does not use it to train its models. We don't store your messages or the AI's answers. The privacy page has the details.
