A design is a style for a whole deck. It changes the type, the corners of cards and the layout of some slides. It never changes your colours: every design is drawn in the four colours you set under Set up your brand.

The five designs

  • Classic: clear and balanced, in your brand fonts. This is how every deck looks until you choose another.
  • Bold: big, heavy headings in Outfit and round cards.
  • Studio: led by photos, in Bricolage Grotesque and Figtree, with a full-image cover.
  • Editorial: serif headings in Source Serif 4, soft pages and fine lines.
  • Minimal: light pages in Space Grotesk, no small titles and lots of space.

Pick a design

  1. Open a proposal or portfolio in the editor.
  2. Select Deck settings. This opens on a computer or a large tablet; on a phone you edit in steps.
  3. Under Design, choose a card. Each card shows the design's own type.
  4. Select Save settings. The preview changes straight away.

You can also change it from the slide form. Open any slide and use the Design select at the bottom of the look settings. It changes the whole deck, and Undo takes it back in one step.

Designs are per deck. Nothing changes for decks you already sent, and a copy of a deck keeps its design.

What a design changes, and what it does not

A design changes heading weight and spacing, the small titles, the roundness of cards, thin outlines, and whether a cover or section is centred or full-image. Minimal also leaves out the footer unless you switch it on in Deck settings.

It never changes your colours, your content or your prices. A design never hides anything you wrote: if a layout would not fit your content, the slide keeps your text.

Fonts for one deck

Your brand sets a heading font and a body font for every deck, and each design has its own pairing. In Deck settings, Heading font and Body font start on From the design or your brand font. Choose a font there to use it for this deck only. The list is sixteen fonts, described under Set up your brand.

Background photos

Section, thank-you, testimonial and challenge slides can have a photo behind the text.

  1. Open the slide and find Background photo.
  2. Select Upload photo and choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP.
  3. Click the thumbnail to set the focus point, the part of the photo that stays in view as the slide changes size. When the text sits on a panel beside the photo, the panel covers the left of the photo. With the keyboard, select the thumbnail and use the arrow keys.
  4. Select Remove photo to take it off.

The photo is made smaller in your browser before it is uploaded, so decks open quickly and print to a small PDF. A deck can have up to 6 background photos; after that, remove one to add another.

The cover works differently. It uses its own image with the Full image layout, which Studio picks for you.

Why the text stays readable

Propozit lays a flat layer of your slide colour over the photo and checks the text against the lightest or darkest part of the picture. A strong photo gets a stronger layer. When even that would hide the photo, the text sits on a solid panel of your colour beside it instead, and the form says so.

There is no footer on a slide with a photo, so nothing sits on top of the picture. Solid colours only, no gradients.

The logo mark

In Bold, a dark cover, section or thank-you slide shows a large, faint version of your logo, cropped off the top right. It needs a logo that is a PNG or WebP with a transparent background. A JPEG logo has no transparent parts, so no mark appears. No mark is drawn either when your main colour is not dark, when the mark would make the text harder to read, or on a slide that shows a photo, including a cover with its own image.
